About the Call for Proposals
The 2026 VOCES Health Summit invites health professionals, researchers, students, community leaders, advocates, educators, and partner organizations to contribute to this year’s program.
The theme for the 2026 Summit is Bridging Health & Culture. We are seeking educational, practical, and culturally relevant presentations that advance Latino health and strengthen community collaboration.
The main Summit day will take place Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Brownsville Events Center in Brownsville, Texas.

Presentation Formats
Panel
45 – 60 minutes
A moderated conversation featuring multiple speakers and perspectives.
Workshop
45 – 60 minutes
An interactive learning session that gives attendees practical knowledge, strategies, or tools.
Lightning Talk
10 – 15 minutes
A moderated conversation featuring multiple speakers and perspectives.
Poster Presentation
An interactive learning session that gives attendees practical knowledge, strategies, or tools.
What We Are Looking For
Strong proposals should:
- Address Latino health or community priorities
- Connect with the Summit theme
- Offer practical value to attendees
- Include clear learning objectives
- Be educational rather than promotional
Topics may include health access, workforce development, data, research, storytelling, partnerships, policy, culture, and systems change.
What makes a strong proposal?
Proposals will be reviewed based on:
- Alignment with the Bridging Health & Culture theme
- Relevance to Latino health and community priorities
- Practical value for Summit attendees
- Cultural relevance
- Clear learning objectives
- Fit within the overall Summit program
Proposals are reviewed based on alignment with the Summit theme, Bridging Health & Culture, relevance to Latino health and community priorities, and clarity of objectives.
Poster Requirements
Poster presentations should clearly communicate your research, program, project, or community initiative in a format attendees can review quickly.
Your poster should include:
- Presentation title and presenter information
- A brief overview of the issue or purpose
- Your approach, methods, or activities
- Key findings, outcomes, or lessons learned
- Conclusions, recommendations, or next steps
- Clear headings, readable text, and relevant visuals
Posters should be educational, accessible, and understandable without a full verbal presentation. Review the poster guidance for formatting and submission requirements before preparing your final poster.
