In 2018, Venus retired as faculty member at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, teaching cultural competence and health literacy, as well as conducting research on Latino medical mistrust.

From her personal experience with cancer and her sister's untimely death to cervical cancer, Venus founded Día de la Mujer Latina, Inc., (DML), in 1997 as a national non-profit organization, celebrating its signature health fiesta in 40 states, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Dominican Republic, providing the medically underserved Latina community with culturally and linguistically proficient health education, early detection screening for chronic diseases, culturally-tailored preventive programs for Latino teens and patient-centered navigation. She also trained 4,212 Promotores/Community Health Workers (P/CHWs) in Texas alone.

Venus is a State Certified Instructor of P/CHWs with DML being the first approved bilingual Texas State Sponsored Certification Training Program. She chaired the Department of Health and Human Services National Promotores Initiative and has conducted P/CHW training for employees at the City of Houston and Austin's Paramedics, and more recently the employees of a federally qualified health center. Venus continues to train many Promotores nationwide and in Latin America on key core competencies as it relates to our medically underserved communities.

She developed bilingual training curriculum on subject matters that affects Latinas disproportionately such as Dispelling Myths and Rumors about Women's Cancers, STDs, Patient Centered Care and Mental Health. The Autonomous University of Baja California Sur included Venus's Promotora Curriculum as part of their 2019 Fall Training Program under Public Health. With her team of Instructors, she sponsored their training as Bilingual Mental Health First Aid Instructors and on April 8, 2019, achieved the goal of having the Governor's Proclamation as Promotores/Community Health Worker Day in Texas.

Pasó 25 años como voluntario, empleado de medio tiempo y tiempo completo en Prevention Point Philadelphia desde 1992 hasta diciembre de 2019 en un aspecto u otro y los últimos 8 años enseñando conciencia de opiáceos y reversión de sobredosis. Donde su responsabilidad fue la de un Especialista en prevención en el sistema escolar de Filadelfia durante 7 años, donde enseñó a estudiantes de kínder a 12° grado todo, desde peligros más extraños, prevención de drogas y violencia, hasta violencia en citas de adolescentes, etiqueta de entrevistas de trabajo y prevención de drogas y alcohol, etc.

Antes de enseñar, trabajó como especialista en reducción de daños y como terapeuta de adicciones en 2 clínicas de metadona, así como en un programa para adolescentes. Es ex alumno del Latino Partnership Leadership Institute, un programa que intententa crear líderes en la comunidad y de la comunidad. Es entrenador e instructor del instituto, donde las personas reciben las herramientas necesarias para hacerse líderes y cargo de lo que ven en sus propios vecindarios y, con suerte, desarrollar soluciones para abordarlo. En total, ha pasado la mayor parte de su vida, ya sea en el sistema o trabajando con el sistema para tratar de ayudar a un ser humano en cualquier aspecto de las adicciones, el VIH, la hepatitis, la falta de vivienda, la educación y para que tengan la capacidad para tomar mejores decisiones en la vida.

In addition to pointing the camera on his brother, Ernesto most recently traveled the world working with Jennifer Lopez (JL) on Dance Again a documentary featuring JL on her first ever world tour. As second unit director, Ernesto got to see the world through his lens, traveling to 40 countries in 4 months. On this same tour, Ernesto directed JL's ten dancers and came back to produce six episodes of A Step Away, a docu-series for NUVO TV. Ernesto is prepared to direct, produce, shoot or edit, but most importantly, Ernesto has a knack for story and heart that allows him to capture emotions. His other awards include the Imagen Award for Outstanding Stage Production for "Veteranos: A legacy of Valor" (2000), a nomination for Outstanding Made-for-TV Documentary Producer for an Alma Award for Warrior of the Court (2007), Imagen Award for the PBS national television series Voces (2007), Cine Golden Eagle Award for Lalo Guerrero: The Original Chicano (2007) and a NAMIC award for the mun2 Hookup (2008). He has worked at the network level with Spike TV where he directed and produced the documentary: "Pancho González: The Latino Legend of Tennis." Continuing on the national level, Haro worked with The PBS Network in producing and directing an extended version (Director's Cut) of "Pancho González: Warrior of the Court," for inclusion in a 13-part national series entitled, "VOCES." This first of its kind Latino themed series was broadcast in the fall of 2006, through fall of 2007. In 2007, Mr. Haro's work was recognized with an Alma Award in the category of "Best Documentary made for Television." In 2010 Haro finished producing two full seasons for the Mun2 Network reality series, "The Mun2 Hook Up." Other producing awards and nominations include; Director's Guild Academy Award in the category of Best Documentary; the National Education Foundation's Golden Apple Award for Best Film in the Classroom; and a recipient of the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award.
